Our country has seen a tremendous increase in the champaign of Boycott Chinese Products since the past week. There are several industries including textile and telecom which have already taken steps to cancel import of products and material from China. It is being said that the Chinese apps are sending user data to the Chinese, some even without the knowledge of the user. This makes user information in jeopardy and is a threat. A lot if the above listed apps have been pre-installed in phones and are owned by Chinese companies. Some of these apps have been reported for having privacy issues and security threats.
The app UC-Browser is a very popular app which comes pre-installed into some phones and is a Chinese owned company. The app has been accused of several security and privacy issues in the past and the Citizen Lab even published a detailed study that showed the vast security vulnerabilities and privacy gaps within the app.
Nothing can be said as firm information about these apps but it is better to delete these apps than take any risks about your information.
